Returners / Intermediate Pattern Cutting Course

This course is aimed at students who have completed both the beginners pattern cutting courses (Block Patterns and Creative Pattern Cutting) or those who have some experience of making blocks and adapting them.

Using your own block patterns, you will transform them through creative pattern manipulation, before drafting and and producing finished patterns, including as required; waistbands, collars, pockets facings and linings. You can produce block patterns during the course or bring your own ready to use.

You will experiment half and full scale with techniques to explore your ideas and produce final full scale patterns. Sample pieces can be made as required and you will construct a toile/ mock up of your pattern to check the pattern accuracy, construction techniques and fit.
Although sewing will be utilised during the classes the emphasis of this course is on pattern cutting - If you would like help with sewing or making up a finished garment from an existing pattern you can read about the sewing classes here.

All equipment, tools and materials (including calico and haberdashery) are provided.
